and second Monday of the month. Approval of Minutes: April 7, 2008 Public Hearing: Traffic Impact Fee and Concurrency Ordinance 2008 - Town Consultant Mart Kask. There is also a park impact fee of $400 per housing unit; School impact fee of $2,780 per single family homes; $1.465 per multi-family residential units. The six-year transportation plan may also be discussed. The purpose of the impact fees are to "Create a mechanism to charge and collect fees to ensure that all new development bears its proportionate share of the capital costs of off-site park, fire, school and transportation facilities reasonably related to new development, in order to maintain adopted levels of park service, maintain adopted levels of fire service, maintain adopted levels of service on the town's transportation facilities, and to ensure the availability of adequate school facilities at the time of new development."

Planning Grant. The amount of
the grant is $75,000. Funding will be allocated in both state fiscal

$35,000. The rest of the grant, $40,000, will be available in the
next state fiscal year which begins July 2, 2008 and ends June 30,
2009.

Memo to "The Planning Commission" by Town Planner Nick
Bond dated March 1, 2007 and titled,
"Eatonville School District, Ex
Parte Communications. Planning Commission Future Tasks... This memo is also written by Nick Bond who states he was asked by Steve Lind, planning commission chair, to "assemble a list of planning commission tasks and actions...coming forward over the next several months..." The tasks are: Sign ordinance; School conditional use permits; Comp plan amendments; Capital Facilities Plan; Water, sewer, stormwater, electrical comp plans; Cleaning up Municipal Code including issues such as formula take-out restaurants; The Mashell Meadows PUD. I anticipate that this process would begin in June and continue into late July."

(This
proposed
rezone is for the Crestview Apartments 201 Rainier Avenue North to
zoned "Downtown Commercial" as opposed to the present zoning
of "Multifamily medium density.")
(The rezone passed unanimously.
"Grins" Pierce told the commissioners he purchased the Crestview
Apartments with the idea of tearing the building down. In its place is a
proposed medical center with low-income senior housing above the clinic.
Rowland Litzenberger, Pierce's son-in-law, said the medical center is not
a sure thing yet. The apartments were built in 1927.)

Parnell parts of the Crestview Apartments building were built
from the lumber of the last original wooden
Eatonville Grade School which sat just behind what is now the high
school's North Hall. Two wooden schools had burned previously. The
second and third schools were built by Nels. P. Christensen. While this building
was being constructed the children attended class in the back of

Steve Pruitt at the planning commission table last summer. Pruitt's resignation was announced at the beginning of the commission November 20 meeting. A continuation of the Aviator Heights development public hearing went from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. with no decision made by the remaining five commissioners. |
