Eatonville Police Report, Oct 1 – 24, 2002

October 1 – A15-year-old Eatonville girl was reported as a runaway.

October 1 – An Eatonville girl was charged with filing a false report and her two girl friends were charged with obstructing a police officer. The suspect reported that while she was in school someone had hit her parked vehicle. The investigating officer became suspicious when the accident scene didn’t match what she and her friends were reporting. The officer later discovered the suspect had actually been involved in a traffic accident with another vehicle being driven by a local boy. The suspect and her two friends were afraid to report the accident and decided to report the accident as a hit and run. Case to Remann Hall.

October 1 – This office is investigating a reported rape that allegedly occurred in Eatonville.

October 1 – A 33-year-old Eatonville man was arrested on two felony warrants for his arrest. The suspect was stopped for expired tabs. A records check disclosed he had the warrants for his arrest. He was booked into PC Jail. His vehicle was impounded.

October 2 – Two Lynnwood girls were involuntary committed after they told an officer they were going to commit suicide. They were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital by ambulance.

October 2 – A 23-year-old Eatonville woman was arrested for fraudulently acquiring schedule 11 drugs and for possession of drugs with intent to deliver both of which are felonies. The suspect had gotten a prescription from her doctor for a schedule 11 drug. The prescription was altered by upping the dosage and the quantity of the pills. The pharmacists called the doctor issuing the prescription and learned that it was altered. The suspect was arrested and in a statement said that two girls wanted to buy pills from her and she agreed to fill the prescription and then sell them the pills. The suspect was arrested and booked into PC Jail.

October 5 – An Ashford woman reported that someone had stolen her cell phone and an electric drill from her van while it was parked at the elementary school. The suspect(s) entered the vehicle by opening an unsecured wing window and reaching inside unlocking the door.

October 6 – An abandoned vehicle parked on Larson Street was impounded.

October 6 – A 68-year-old Tacoma man’s son waved down an officer and said his father was having a heart attack and requested assistance. The man had no pulse and was not breathing. The officer and an unknown woman who said she was a registered nurse began CPR until medical aid personnel arrived. The man was transported to Good Sam and pronounced dead.

October 7 – A high school student reported he had been getting threatening letters from an unknown person.

October 7 – Someone stole a Digatrak location device, used to trace underground drilling, from an unsecured truck that was parked in a fenced in area in the 800 block of SR161. The locator was valued at $5,800 and is useless for anything else except locating underground drilling.

 October 8 – A high school student threatened another student with a pair of scissors. The suspect was charged and released. Case to Remann Hall.

October 10 – Someone removed the unsecured gas caps and probably stole gas from several cars parked in the parking lot of the Glacier View Apartments. Also taken were two boxes of cereal and a watch. 

October 11 – An Eatonville teenager was taken into protective custody.

October 11 – Three teenage girls were arrested for MIP after they were caught drinking at the Community Center. All three girls were later released to their parents. Case to Remann Hall.

October 12 – Someone broke into the storage room at the Pizza Place and stole about 14 cases of beer.

October 12 – An officer on patrol saw a vehicle parked in the area of the elementary school with its interior lights on. When the officer stopped he heard the fence rattle as if someone had just jumped the fence. He did an area check but did not find anyone. The records check on the vehicle disclosed the plates came back to another vehicle. The VIN number was then checked and record checks disclosed the vehicle had been reported stolen from a Puyallup car dealership. Eatonville Towing impounded the vehicle.

October 13 – An Eatonville teenager was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

October 13 – A 20-year-old Eatonville woman reported that someone had stolen her computer and other items over a three-week period from her apartment.

October 14 – Someone broke into the town’s water pump house and stole a computer and other items. The thefts amounted to about $1,700.00.

October 14 – A 50-year-old Eatonville woman reported that someone had attempted to steal her truck by punching the ignition.

October 14 – A 49-year-old Eatonville woman reported that someone had stolen her truck. The truck was later recovered in the Ashford/Elbe area.

October 16 – A 50-year-old Roy man reported that another 50-year-old Roy man had violated a protection order. The suspect reportedly stopped beside him blocking traffic and began to stare at him, which is a violation of the court order. The suspect was gone when police were notified.

October 17 – A 52-year-old Eatonville man reported that someone had broken into his mother’s house. It is unknown if anything was taken.

October 18 – An Eatonville teenage boy was arrested for taking his parent’s vehicle without permission. The suspect was observed in town and when an officer attempted to stop him he refused to stop. A Pierce County deputy finally was able to place stop sticks in front of the vehicle and deflated the tires. The suspect was arrested and booked into Remann Hall.

October 18 – An Eatonville man and his two sons’ while policing garbage on Ohop Valley Extension Road found a discarded meth lab inside a large trash bag. EPA was contacted and the lab was removed.

October 18 – A 10-speed bike was found behind town hall.

October 21 – A wallet was found in the Mill Village area. It was booked into evidence as found property.

October 19 – A 29-year-old Eatonville woman reported that her live-in boyfriend had choked her. The man said he did grab her by the neck to talk to her after she came home late from a bar. The suspect was arrested and booked into PC Jail for domestic assault.

October 19 – A 29-year-old Gig Harbor man was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, for possession of methamphetamine and for attempting to elude police. An officer while on patrol heard a sheriff’s deputy put out an all points bulletin on a reported stolen truck. A short time later the officer saw the suspect vehicle parked at the Mill Village Chevron Station getting gas. The officer pulled up blocking the driver’s door and ordered the suspect out. The suspect looked at the officer and then pulled out at a high rate of speed heading north bound on Washington Ave. The suspect continued at a high rate of speed and at one point was able to avoid a set of stop sticks that was placed out by a sheriff’s deputy to stop him. As the suspect topped Graham Hill he apparently saw that SR161 was completely blocked by waiting sheriff’s deputies and he wisely decided to stop. He was taken into custody and booked into PC Jail.

October 19 – An Eatonville man reported someone had stolen his son’s BMX bike.

October 19 – A Eatonville woman reported she had hit a deer that was being chased by two dogs at the corner of Orchard and Center St W. Damages to her car was about $1,800.00. The deer was killed on impact.

October 19 – A 58-year-old California man reported someone had attempted to steal his car by punching the ignition.

October 20 – A 40-year-old Eatonville man was charged with domestic assault after his wife reported he had grabbed her by the arm and shoved her. The suspect had left the residence prior to the police being contacted. Case to prosecutor for review.

October 22 – A young boy was charged with assaulting a girl at the middle school. Case to Remann Hall.

October 22 – A 35-year-old Covington man was stopped for defective equipment and for speeding. A records check disclosed the suspect had a felony warrant for his arrest for possession of a short barreled weapon and for felony possession of drugs. He also had a warrant for DUI. The suspect was taken into custody and later booked into PC Jail. His vehicle was impounded.

October 23 – An Eatonville woman reported a UPS driver had delivered a package she had ordered to the wrong address. The victim said she contacted the resident and told them the UPS driver said he delivered the package to their house. They denied any knowledge of the item. Investigation continues.

October 23 – A 23-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for DUI and DWLS. A 24-year-old Sumner man was also arrested for Possession of drug paraphernalia. Police were dispatched to a traffic accident involving a car and a pole near Adams Street. Upon arrival of police at first thought the driver was dead because he was totally unresponsive. Medical aid was contacted and a short time later the suspect began moving. He had apparently been knocked unconscious during the accident. The suspect refused medical aid. Due to his obvious intoxicated state he was placed under arrest for DUI. During a search of the car a backpack belonging to the passenger was searched and two pot pipes were found. He was arrested, cited and released. The suspect was later transported to St. Joseph Hospital for observation. Eatonville Towing impounded his vehicle.

 October 24 – Two high school students were arrested for MIP after they came to school intoxicated. One was still so intoxicated at 1 p.m. it was recommended her parents take her to the hospital for evaluation. The other student was cited and released to her aunt.
