Eatonville Police Report (Sept. 3 to 13, 2002)

September 3 – A 27-year-old Graham man was arrested for DWLS. An officer using an in-car computer ran the suspects vehicle license plate. The computer showed the registered owner had a suspended license. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as the registered owner. The suspect was arrested for DWLS. His vehicle was impounded.

September 6 – A 24-year-old Ashford man was arrested for multiple warrants for his arrest. An officer, while on patrol, observed an Eatonville man that he knew had a felony escape warrant for his arrest sitting on the porch of a residence on Alder Street. The officer requested Pierce County deputies assist him on the warrant because the warrant had an assault caution attached to it. Upon the arrival of the deputies they contacted the residents. The suspect they were looking for was no longer in the residence. However, the Ashford man did have a DUI and two DWLS warrants out of Pierce County and two Eatonville warrants one for DWLS and the other for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and booked into PC Jail.

September 6 – A tree trimming work crew found what turned out to be a dumped meth lab off Weyerhaeuser Road. The lab consisted of several jars with a clear liquid, clear plastic tubing and several plastic jugs inside a white 5-gal bucket. The Department of Ecology was contacted and will dispose of the lab and clean up the area.

September 8 – A 43-year-old Eatonville man reported someone had broken into his storage trailer and stolen numerous power tools. The suspect(s) used what appeared to be a set of bolt cutters to cut the hasp.

September 8 – A 47-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for domestic assault. The suspect and his 43-year-old live-in girlfriend got into an argument which resulted in the suspect allegedly hitting the victim in the head with a water bottle and grabbed her by the chest and tried to lift her off the bed. The suspect was arrested and booked into PC Jail.

September 10 – A 1988 GMC Jimmy was impounded for safekeeping after it was found abandoned facing eastbound in the westbound lane of Eatonville Highway.

September 10 – A 25-year-old Eatonville man and an 18-year-old Eatonville man were arrested for possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspects were observed in an area that has had frequent car prowls, vandalism and thefts. The suspects were contacted and advised the reason for the contact. The suspects were asked if they would turn out their pockets for officer safety and they agreed. The 18-year-old pulled out a pot pipe and showed the officer. The suspect was arrested and a further search disclosed a plastic tube containing marijuana. The 25-year-old man voluntarily opened his backpack and inside was a pill bottle made out to someone else. The pills in the bottle were anti-depressants and barbiturates. During a further search of the backpack a pot pipe was also found. Both suspects were cited and released.

September 11 – A 22-year-old Graham man was killed in a one-car roll over traffic accident that occurred at Ohop Valley Extension Road and SR161. The driver of the car a, 22-year-old Graham man was air lifted to Harbor View Hospital. WSP was requested and they are the lead agency in this investigation.

September 12 – A 59-year-old Eatonville man reported someone had entered his property and removed the building permits off his new house that is currently under construction.

September 12 – A 19-year-old Eatonville woman reported someone had stolen her car from the parking lot at her apartment. The vehicle was later recovered in Ashford.

September 13 – A 34-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for assault 1st degree with a weapon. The suspect reportedly beat up his live-in girlfriend and finally pointed a load .22 caliber rife at her saying he was going to pull the trigger. The arresting officer arrived at the apartment and through the open doorway he heard the suspect yelling he was going to kill the victim. The officer arrested the man at gunpoint. The victim had visible sign of bruising on her arms and neck. The rife was recovered and taken as evidence. The suspect was booked into PC Jail. The suspect is also a registered sex offender who is not registered in Eatonville. PCSO will be notified.
