Sheriff’s Report Oct. 27 – Nov. 10

Forgery Of Checks/Possession Of Stolen Property – Oct. 27: A 55-year-old Graham woman found one of her personal checks in the bedroom of her 23-year-old roommate. When the older woman asked the younger woman about the checks, the young roommate admitted taking some of the victim’s checks, but said that she had thrown them away. Although suspicious, the victim accepted her roommate’s answer and didn’t report the incident. Later, when the victim obtained copies of the checks she realized that her roommate hadn’t told the truth and she contacted sheriff’s deputies. There were four checks the roommate had written, totaling $105.15, one in the amount of $4.12, paying for a coffee drink. Upon the roommate’s arrival home, the victim once again contacted sheriffs at the Mountain Detachment who drove to the victim’s home and found one more check in the young woman’s wallet when searching her belongings. The 23-year-old was transported to Pierce County jail and booked in on charges of check forgery and possession of stolen property.

Burglary – Nov. 2: A Federal Way man, owner of a vacation home on Ski Park Rd. E., discovered that sometime between Sept. 2 and Nov. 2 unknown person(s) entered his residence through an unlocked deck window taking a variety of furniture, a television and pressure washer from the property’s shed.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts – Nov. 2: A resident of Graham found that unknown suspect(s) had removed both front hubs, the left brake drum, power steering pump hoses and the steering linkage from an old Ford truck parked behind a shed in his yard. The victim suspects that a former neighbor, who had a similar truck is responsible and is attempting to contact a third party hoping to find his former neighbor’s whereabouts.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts – Nov. 3: A 40-year-old woman living on Ohop Clear Lake Rd. E. in Eatonville found that two snow tires were missing from her driveway. The woman believes the tires were stolen between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9.

Burglary – Nov. 4: A home on 39th Ave. Ct. E. in Graham was entered, apparently through the attached garage door. The unknown suspect(s) violently ransacked several rooms in the home, taking a riffle. A chainsaw taken from the garage was found lying on the ground outside of the garage. The 50-year-old female resident said she had noticed a small, white pick up truck with multiple passengers on the street when she left her home on a short errand prior to the incident. Neighbors said they saw or heard nothing unusual.

Harassment – Nov. 9: Deputies were called out to the LeMay landfill on Meridian when a security guard observed striking workers throwing rocks and paint balls at non-union truck drivers. The striking workers denied harassing the non-union workers and were advised by deputies not to throw rocks.

Theft/Larceny – Nov. 9: A generator was taken from a residence on 22nd Ave. E. in Graham. The victim’s 40-year-old wife was home alone when she heard a knock at her door and then on a window. The woman didn’t answer and thought she saw a man put something in the cab of a dark blue pick up truck with blue canopy which was sitting in front of her home. Later her husband discovered that his generator was missing.

Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property – Nov. 10: A 51-year-old Auburn woman was visiting at a home on 246th St. E. in Graham when she heard her car alarm go off. Going out to the street where her mini van was parked, she found that unknown person(s) had smashed out the rear window of her vehicle. Officers believed the incident to be a random act of violence as nothing was taken or disturbed.
