Theft/Vehicle Prowl – Aug. 26: Unknown suspect(s) broke out both windows on the driver’s side of a vehicle parked in a driveway on 61st Avenue Court East (between 257th and 258th) in Graham. Removed from the vehicle was a Pioneer CD player and a speaker.

Theft/Vehicle Prowl – Aug. 26: Various CD’s were taken from a vehicle parked at a residence on 257th Street Court East in Graham after unknown person(s) broke out the driver’s side wing window. Numerous other vehicles in the neighborhood were also broken into.

Assault (Simple) – Aug. 27: A 50-year-old male suspect informed a sheriff’s deputy, who had responded to a civil complaint call on 152nd Avenue East in Graham, that workers and neighbors who were paving the road were trespassing and he wanted the work stopped. The man further explained to the deputy that he was not part of the homeowner’s association and he did not want them to pave the street in front of his residence. He also claimed he owned the street and wanted the workers arrested for criminal trespass. The deputy tried to explain the "right-of-way/easement" situation and that this was really a civil matter, but the man would not listen. The suspect then walked away, returning to his home. The deputy was about to clear the call when he received another dispatch of a victim assault just down the street; probably related to the call he was already on.  The victim, a 39-year-old male, stated he was on the shoulder of the road helping with the paving when the suspect came up to him yelling and screaming that he was trespassing. All of a sudden the suspect lunged at the 39-year-old, pushing him in the chest with both hands. The victim staggered back into the ditch, and then went home to avoid further confrontation.  The deputy spoke with two eyewitnesses who collaborated the victim’s story, and the suspect admitted pushing the victim, as he wanted him off his property. The deputy advised the suspect he would be writing a report of the assault and forwarding it to Pierce County prosecutors requesting they file charges. The deputy also advised the man that his civil problem could be handled in court and if there were further problems with assault he could be in more serious trouble.

Assault (Simple) – Aug. 27: A sheriff’s deputy contacted a 19 year-old-male at Good Samaritan Hospital whose face and eyes were heavily bruised, particularly on his left side. The 19-year-old victim said that he had been driving down 42nd Avenue East in Graham to visit a friend. As he drove up the dirt road leading to his friend’s home as well as other residences, the suspect, a 20-year-old male resident of Graham, jumped a fence and ran up to the victim’s car shouting at him and telling him to get out of his car, accusing the victim of "talking crap" about him.  He began to punch the victim who said he was just trying to cover up and protect himself. He thought the suspect hit him only with closed fists, but was uncertain and he didn’t know how many times he had been struck.  The victim said the next thing he knew he was at home and called his parents who took him to Good Samaritan Hospital. He also told the deputy the only other confrontation he’d had with the suspect was a fight when they were in junior high school. The victim said he didn’t know of any reason for the attack.
