Planning Commission Vacancy

Eatonville Planning Commissioner Dave Babcock "retired" approximately six weeks before his term ended, leaving a vacancy on the nine member board. During the commission meeting Monday, Nov.18 Babcock informed fellow commissioners he had family commitments during December as his daughter is getting married. Babcock has served since Jan. 1997 and  his term would have  ended Dec. 31. The planning commission is an unpaid advisory board. Members are appointed by the mayor and that appointment is approved or disapproved by the town council. Members are selected without regard to political affiliations. Anyone interested in the six-year position should contact the Eatonville Town Hall, 360.832.3361 and ask for Mayor Harold Parnell. Presently there is no deadline for those seeking the appointment.
