Burglary/Forced Entry - April 1 thru July 13 a vacation home on SR 706 in Ashford was burglarized when unknown person(s) pried open locks on both the residence and accompanying shed. Among items taken were a Honda 4000 watt generator, 24" and 17" orange and white Stihl chainsaws, an orange and white Stihl weed/brush cutter, a red Sears Craftsman leaf blower, a black and silver Sears Craftsman table saw and a silver Skill 7.25 circular skillsaw.
Theft/MVTR - July 16: A yellow 1997 Seadoo wave runner and silver aluminum Spirit boat trailer were stolen from the boat launch on School Road at Alder Lake. The owner had just taken the wave runner out of the water and loaded it onto its trailer, leaving it momentarily on the boat launch. Witnesses reported seeing a "newer" silver car with approximately six passengers "prowling" the area. The suspect, a single white male, was dropped off from the car when it stopped at the stop sign exiting the parking lot. He then ran back to the parking lot and drove off in a light colored, mid 1980's Ford Mustang.
Theft/Larceny - July 18 unknown person(s) took building materials valuing $1,500.00 from a fenced, residential building site on 132nd Avenue East in Graham.
Burglary/No Forced Entry - July 20: A residence on 292nd Street East in Graham was entered through an unlocked slider. Clothing and bedding were taken from the master bedroom, while cash and electronics in plain view were untouched. Sheriff's deputies searched the area unsuccessfully for transients known to live along nearby power lines.
Burglary/Forced Entry - July 20: Unknown person(s) cut the phone line, shut off the power and kicked in the back door of the O.K. Country Store in Graham. Officers believe the burglars were scared off by the store's audible alarm, as it did not appear that anything was taken.
Arson - July 21: On 65th Avenue Court East in Graham a white male, age 45, was arrested for arson and attempted domestic violence. The man, who didn't want his ex-wife to sell a Prowler travel trailer, which they had purchased together, entered the trailer slashing and stabbing seat cushions and curtains with a dull hunting knife. Becoming frustrated at his knife, he poured two cans of gasoline inside the trailer and left the premises. Sheriff's deputies later arrested the man when observing him drive by the residence several times while conducting their investigation.
Burglary/Forced Entry - July 21: A church on 224th Street East in Graham was ransacked when a rear, metal clad door was pried open. There are no suspects in the case.
Assault - July 22: A 45-year-old white male from Graham was arrested for nonaggravated assault. A dispute erupted when a female resident, backing her car out of the driveway, noticed a couple with a child walking on the sidewalk and stopped to let them pass by. The woman walking complained that the driver almost hit them and threw gravel at the victim's parked truck while she was standing next to the driveway. The victim then suggested to the arrestee that he "keep his wife under control." At that point the man grabbed the victim by the throat and dragged him across 258th Street East, pushing him against a pine tree leaving marks around his throat and lacerations on his arm.
