Eatonville Police Report (July 14 - July 31, 2002)

July 14 – A 39-year-old Eatonville man reported that someone had cut the electrical plug off his truck and trailer.
July 14 – A 36-year-old Eatonville woman was arrested for DWLS after she was stopped for a seatbelt violation. A records check using an in-car computer disclosed that her license was suspended. She was cited and released.
July 15 – A 29-year-old Eatonville man was cited for no insurance and improper backing. The suspect while working on his car started the engine from under the hood. The vehicle was in reverse gear and started moving. The vehicle rolled across an alley and hit a parked car. Damages were estimated to be about $1,500 to the parked car and about $1,000 to the suspect’s vehicle.
July 15 – A 4-year-old boy was playing with matches and started a fire in his grandmother’s residence. The fire was quickly put out by the fire department.
July 16 – A juvenile male was charged with vandalism (domestic violence) after he damaged the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s apartment. The suspect was gone upon the arrival of the police. The case has been forwarded to Remann Hall.
July 18 – A 49-year-old Eatonville woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had violated a court ordered anti-harassment order by coming to her residence. The victim waited until the next day to report the incident. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review and possible criminal charging.
July 20 – Someone broke into the main water pump house and stole a hard drive to an old computer.
July 21 – A 33-year-old Eatonville man was arrested and charged with failure to sign a notice of infraction. The suspect was stopped for a seat belt violation, when he refused to sign the infraction he was charged with failing to sign the infraction. He was cited and released.
July 21 – A 40-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for DWLS. The suspect was stopped for not wearing a seat belt. A records check disclosed that the suspect’s drivers license was suspended. The suspect was cited and released. His vehicle was impounded.
July 22 – A 32-year-old Tacoma woman was arrested for DWLS and her 37-year-old passenger was arrested for a warrant for his arrest for Malicious Mischief 3rd (Domestic violence). The driver was stopped for not wearing her seat belt. The passenger in the car also was not wearing his seat belt. A records check disclosed that the driver had a suspended license and the passenger had a warrant. Both suspects were arrested. The driver was cited and released; the passenger was booked into Pierce County Jail.
July 22 – A 50-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for DUI. The suspect was stopped for erratic driving. Upon contact with the driver the arresting officer detected a strong odor of intoxicants on the driver’s breath. The suspect agreed to take a field sobriety test, but when he became increasingly agitated the test was stopped and he was placed under arrest for DUI. The suspect was transported to the police department for a breath test. Once at the station the suspect refused to take the test. He was cited and released. His vehicle was impounded.
July 22 – A 22-year-old Eatonville woman reported that someone had entered her secured apartment and stolen a wallet belonging to her roommate, which contained $234 in cash. The woman reported that when she left for work at about 1 p.m. the wallet was on the coffee table. When she returned at about 5:15 p.m. the wallet was missing. They searched the area and found the wallet outside in the bushes. The woman said when she came home the apartment was still locked. She could not explain how someone had entered the secured apartment and taken the wallet.
July 25 – A 39-year-old Eatonville woman reported that someone had stolen two bikes from her front yard.
July 26 - A 67-year-old Eatonville man reported that someone entered his unsecured car and had stolen two cameras. One a Minolta 35mm, the other a Polaroid Land camera. Neighbors were contacted and no one heard or saw anyone in the area.
July 26 - A 38-year-old Eatonville man reported that someone had entered his unsecured SUV and took a bottle of touch up paint. The suspect(s) then used the touch up paint to write “F___ You Faggot” on the hood. The victim said he has no idea who would have done this to his vehicle.
July 28 - A 22-year-old Seattle woman reported a domestic assault involving her father and brother. She said her brother reported that his father had hit him in the face. When an officer investigated the incident the boy said that he had fallen while chasing pigs. A report was sent to CPS.
July 29 – A 44-year-old Eatonville woman reported someone had stolen a $3,800 pair of diamond earrings. Investigation continues.
July 29 – Someone stole two signs “Click it or ticket.” One was taken from SR161 and the other from Mashell Ave. S. The signs were purchased by the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission and were placed at all entrances to the Town of Eatonville.
July 30 – A 35-year-old Eatonville woman was arrested for DWLS. The suspect was observed driving in the 300 block of Center St. E. An officer had arrested her earlier for DWLS so he checked her driver’s status using his in-car computer. It showed that her license was still suspended. The suspect was stopped and arrested. The suspect was cited and released. Her vehicle was impounded.
July 31 – A 39-year-old Eatonville man was arrested for DUI. The suspect was stopped for erratic driving. When contacted the suspect told the officer that he did not have a driver’s license or insurance. The officer while talking to the suspect detected the odor of intoxicants. The suspect agreed to take a field sobriety test and failed all tests given. A search of the vehicle revealed a pot pipe in the glove box. The suspect was arrested and transported to the police department for a BAC. The results were.141 and .137. A records check verified that the suspect’s drivers license was suspended and that he had two warrants for his arrest for DWLS and for a previous DUI. He was cited and released. His vehicle was impounded.
July 31 – A 20-year-old Spanaway man was arrested for DUI. The suspect was stopped for erratic driving. When contacted the suspect smelled of intoxicants. The suspect agreed to take a field sobriety test. He failed all tests given. He was arrested and transported to the police department for a BAC. The results were .116 and .113. He was cited and released. His vehicle was impounded.
