This quilt, made
by the I’d Rather Be Quilting (IRBQ) quilters, was donated to the South
Pierce County Historical Society recently. It fits a double bed, and
features 18 fan designs, each unique fan framed within a tilted square. Many
of the pieces of fabric in the quilt are from 1930’s era clothing.
Society members are raffling
off the beautiful quilt to raise funds for their projects. Tickets are $1.
The quilt will be on display Saturday, December 6, starting at 11 a.m., at
the entrance to Plaza Market, where the Society will be conducting their
annual holiday wreath, swag and basket fundraiser.
Chances to win the quilt can also be
purchased at the Historical Society’s Christmas Tea at the Van Eaton
Cabin Sunday, December 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. The winner’s name will be
drawn at the conclusion of the tea. Winner need not be present to win.
